Prevention with a capital P!

feuerwehr_k
“What if…”: this is a question asked by all those who bear responsibility.

And this is precisely the question those responsible at the FrankenChemie company ask themselves regularly. Due to renovation measures at the filling plant to comply with GMP standards, the focus in the current considerations was on fire protection, as due to the conversion measures, the entire administration building was also modernized according to the latest fire prevention regulations.

In order to obtain a realistic picture for the worst possible case, the measures taken were to be tested for one thing, and for another, the local fire brigade was to be made familiar with the circumstances.

Against this backdrop, it soon became clear that only a “worst case” simulation could enable a comprehensive perspective of the facts and would ultimately contribute to safety.

With this in mind, Andreas Schindele was immediately met with an open ear at the local fire brigade. During initial talks, it became clear that the most ideal opportunity was to carry out a larger object exercise of all fire brigades of the Wendelstein municipality with neighbouring brigades, supplemented by the district task forces “local task force” and “breathing protection”, under realistic deployment conditions, in order to be best prepared for an industrial accident in the worst case scenario. With a total of 27 vehicles and more than 140 helpers, the prescribed scenarios were tacked, showing yet again that prevention and practice are the be-all and end-all of all safety-related issues.

The great importance afforded by owner-family Schindele to youth work was expressed by the awarding of a donation for the youth fire brigade Wendelstein.
